Mission Statement
The School Social Workers/School Adjustment Counselors’ Mission is to support students, families, faculty, staff and administrators through various activities and services with the ultimate goal of helping students take full advantage of the academic and social experiences and opportunities at Randolph High School and beyond.

The role of the School Social Worker/Adjustment Counselor is to provide the vital link between home, school and community resources. As members of a multidisciplinary educational team, we provide both direct and indirect services to support and help students manage a rigorous and challenging academic program while developing the personal and interpersonal skills necessary to be successful in a diverse and dynamic society.

Code of Ethics
School Social Workers/Adjustment Counselors adhere to the Code of Ethics set forth by the National Association of Social Workers and the Massachusetts Mental Health Association.

Credentials and Expertise
School Social Worker/Adjustment Counselors are licensed by both the Massachusetts division of Professional Licensure Board of Registration and the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.  School Social Worker/Adjustment Counselors provide educational and therapeutic services through a tiered system of support. Students have access to School Social Workers/Adjustment Counselors to improve academic performance, develop social skills, decision making skills and mature coping skills. School Social Worker/Adjustment Counselors have specialized training in the areas of: 

  • Individual, Group and Family Counseling
  • Crisis Prevention, Intervention, Assessment and Management
  • Implementation of curriculum on topics including:  Self-Regulation/Managing Emotions,Social Skills, Social Pragmatics, mental health issues (symptom management and symptom reduction), drug and alcohol use-abuse-addiction
  • Assessment and Intervention
  • Consultation and Collaboration
  • Conflict Resolution
  • Anger Management
  • Grief Counseling
  • School Social Workers/Adjustment Counselors access outside agencies and resources and make referrals as needed.

Daniel Bellistri, LICSW, CAGS,

Daniel Bellistri attended Boston University where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology in 1991, a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work in 1994, and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in 2011. In addition, in May 2015 Dan completed an Advanced Post Graduate Certificate Program in Applied Behavior Analysis at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Dan has over 25 years experience working in various community mental health agencies, psychiatric hospitals, residential treatment programs, public schools and alternative education programs.  Dan has experience in providing marriage and family therapy, couples counseling, as well as individual and group counseling and crisis intervention.  Dan is a licensed psychotherapist in the state of Massachusetts and is also licensed as a School Social Worker/Adjustment Counselor by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.  He has worked at Randolph High School as a Clinical Social Worker/Adjustment Counselor for 20 years.
